Cacao & Dance with Shelby - Nov 1

$35.00

Cacao + Dance đŸ’ƒđŸ”„ Join us for an epic Sunday evening experience of Cacao + Dance around the fire at Embody Memphis on Sunday, November 1st from 5-7pm!*

What to expect

We will begin by connecting with Cacao, a gentle yet potent plant medicine ally that facilitates a profound relationship with the intuitive guidance and healing energy of your heart. From this heart opened space, you will have the opportunity to express and release any emotions or energy through music and movement within a supportive community, and have a lot of fun while doing it!

Our time together will include an opening circle, guided meditation, movement, and optional sharing, fostering a space of exploration and communal connection. This is an especially auspicious time to gather in this way as we’ll be in the window of Samhain (pronounced “sah-win”), an ancient Gaelic festival that marks the end of the harvest season and beginning of the darker half of the year. Traditionally, communities lit large, communal fires for light and protection which they would bring home to light their own hearths.

About Cacao

Cacao is an ancient, feminine, heart- opening plant spirit and guide. She can support us on both a physical and metaphysical level. She is multifaceted in that she can take us quite deep and help us to feel our emotions, while also helping us to connect with playfulness, joy, and gratitude.

About Ecstatic Dance

Ecstatic dance or freeform movement is simply an opportunity to listen to your body and allow it to express in any way. It is not about looking good or dancing in any sort of traditional way, so it is accessible to all, regardless of experience. The invitation to move is optional, so if feel called to stillness, you can always enjoy the energy of the evening from your seat!

About your guide

Shelby is a yoga, breathwork, & meditation teacher and ceremonialist. She has developed a personal practice and relationship with Cacao for many years and is excited to share this medicine with others. She believes there is much potential for connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth with softened, more open hearts. She is also a firm believer in the power of movement and allowing the body to express through dance. Ecstatic dance and freeform movement have allowed her to access meditative states, feel cathartic emotional release, understand what it means to listen to the body, let go of inhibition, and, perhaps most importantly, have some fun amidst life’s seriousness. She is happy to extend this invitation to others, offering a pathway to embrace more lightness as we journey forward together.
